Very pleased but limited experience 8/16/2008 This is only the 3rd time we have purchased quinoa. Previously, we used quinoa purchased from Whole Foods. It is comparable, less expensive, and avoids the need for prerinsing. What's not to like! Mostly, my wife has made salads. They have been huge hits with friends and family. We tried making stuffed bell peppers substituting quinoa for rice. However, the quinoa did not open up and remained in seed form. So, we have more to learn about how to cook with this great grain. Most Nutritional Grain, Delicious, Cooks Like Rice 8/2/2008 Quinoa is a delicious and more nutritional version of rice and cooks very easily. It is probably the most nutritional grain because of it high protein (12-18%), fiber, phosphorus, iron and magnesium content. The protein in Quinoa is complete with all amino acids (unlike rice which lacks in lysine) which makes it an excellent grain for vegetarians. I cooked Bob's Red Mill Organic Whole Grain Quinoa just like rice and it was ready in 20 minutes. You have to rinse it well otherwise the grains are sticky. Soaking in water before cooking, like rice, also helps. It can be used in a variety of ways just-hot with meals and cold with salad - like rice. It is very sumptuous, filling and has somewhat nutty flavor. Strongly recommended. Thank You. Was this review helpful?
AMAZING!!!! 7/27/2008 This is honestly the best grain I have ever had. I eat it at least three times a day! Out of any type of grain this is the best for you. Highly nutritious, and very tasty! I like to mix mine with garlic while cooking, and when it is done I mix in hot pepper relish. YUM! I am a bodybuilder and this has become the staple of my carbs. You can even heat it up for breakfast and add sugar free syrup if you like, and some fruit! My favorite is hot pepper relish, corn, garlic, and chicken! ENJOY! will be eating this forever.. Organic Whole Grain Quinoa 6/22/2008 Excellent product from Bob's Mill. There are a lot of quality quinoa grain products I have access too where I live, but Bob's Mill is one of the few that doesn't trigger my sister's Celiac's disease. Will order again when we run out!
